Well, if you really must know . . . .

I am Michael (or Mike) Driehorst, a 13+ year professional in public relations and marketing communications. Formerly with The Lauerer Markin Group (1994-2007), I join Hanson Inc., Maumee, Ohio, U.S.A., in February 2007 as a messaging strategist.

I’ve also spent four years as editor for a Toledo weekly newspaper, and city reporter for two small dailies in Fostoria and Napoleon, Ohio (1990-1994). And, in the past, I periodically freelanced for newspapers in Toledo and Saugatuck, Mich.

Recently (January 2008), I started writing one of the Marketing Moxie columns for TalentZoo.com. Occasionally, I freelance for my alma mater, Adrian College’s Contact alumni magazine.

You can learn more about me at my LinkedIn profile, my Poynter Personal Page, my del.icio.us links and my Twitter page. (Any suggestions for other links?)

Why blog?

I’ve blogged since July 2005. I blog because it’s fun. I also blog to enhance and advance my career. Blogging, like other communication tools, is a tool for some current and future clients. So, we cannot suggest a tactic if we do not know about it.

If you wish to contact me, feel free to do so via email or IM. My Yahoo! email and IM is miked918, and my Gmail and Gtalk is mike.driehorst. You can also IM me via AOL’s AIM (mcdriehorst).
Thank you for visiting.
