If you haven’t visited the Newseum site, you should.
I first became aware of Newseum through the book, “Running Towards Danger.” An excellent book, detailing what many broadcast, radio and print journalists went through on Sept. 11, 2001.
I visited its site the other day and found a couple good gems.
One is Today’s Front Pages. The front page of 471 newspapers from 42 countries (alphabetically).
The other is a very current events quiz, called News Mania. It’s set up like a game show with its very own host. I say “very current” because the questions posed are within a day or two (at the very most) of what is happing in the world. Once you are done, you can print out your very own press pass.
So, if you think you know what’s going on, and have some time on your lunch hour or in the evening, give them a try. Note: The pages at Newseum didn’t work for Firefox. You’re going to have to use IE.
