Much to my pleasant surprise, one of the more important trade magazines I read had a story on blogging in this week’s issue.

Crain’s Plastics News had a decent story on a blog set up by the Society of Plastics Engineers. There were also some good comments from the National Association of Manufacturers.

While Plastics News didn’t rate the NAM blog highly — only a 1 on a scale of 1-5 — I think it is definitey among the best association ones I’ve seen. The PN rating for the NAM blog was in its printed edition. (Sorry. Couldn’t find it online.). But, the main reason for the low rating was its lack of plastics information. But, for an overall manufacturing perspective, I’d give it a 5. It especially did a good job communicating with members on an ABC News story. (I posted about that communication and the benefits of association blogging here.)

So, hat’s off to Plastics News for paying some service to blogging.

Now, if only the more B2B companies would join in.
